FILM MAGAZINE DRAFT
The picture above is the first draft of my magazine that I have completed. The only thing that needs to be added to my magazine is my image. I collected most of my inspiration for this magazine from multiple research into different genres of magazines throughout the process of my research. I used photoshop to create my magazine.

Actors list
Name: John Wood
Film role: Masked killer (antagonist)
Age: 19
Height: 6ft 3
Reason for role: we decided that Johns height and build was ideal for the role of the antagonist. In most horror films that you see the audience fears the antagonist. Therefore, we decided compared to the protagonists, John would be much more suited as the masked killer.
Name: Ryan Jones
Film role: Protagonist 1, teenage boy
Age:17
Reason for role: Being one of the members of our group, Ryan is a extremely confident hard-working and would be the perfect candidate for the role. He represents the typical teenage stereotype which is what my group was aiming for.
Name: Shaun Owens
Film role: Protagonist 2, teenage boy
Age: 18 Reason for role:

Fake cut practise
Above was my first practise at making a 'fake cut.' To do this I used Vaseline, foundation, red food colouring and a pair of tweezers. As it was a practise attempt I believe I could make this better if I plan to incorporate this method into my trailer.

Costume List
Antagonist: (John Wood) White mask black jumper (x2) Black jeans Black shoes
Protagonist 1: (Ryan Jones) Black hoody denim jeans trainers
Protagonist 2: (Shaun Owens) White shirt Denim jeans Grey hoody Trainers
When creating the outfits for the killers, we wanted to stress the age of the protagonists, which is why we used typical clothing such as jeans and trainers. As they are teenagers, we decided that their dress sense had to be common and keeping in tact with the norm. We decided to dress John in all black clothes as this is a typical cliché of what burglars look life. We added the mask as this creates the eerie and creepy sensation, it allows the audience to know that this is not just a typical 'break-in' There is a higher purpose for the intrusion.

Final film title name
The final film title name that we decided on was 'The Intruder.' We chose this simply we found it blended better with the log line than trespass did. Also, we decided that It gave more of a sinister and scary appeal than trespass did.
For the layout of this title I am going to use and white and red font. This is common in horror films and is something I would like to merge into my own ancillary products.

Fianlised name ideas
After researching multiple names for our film title. We finally narrowed it down to two; The Intruder and Trespass.
The intruder
We decided that out of all the names we would categorise ;The Intruder in one of our final categories. As our film is based on someone breaking into the house, we thought that this highlighted the storyline very well. The use of intruder suggests someone unwelcome, which gives an eerie and fearful appeal. Most horror films begin with the word 'The' which is something we thought would be good to incorporate into our trailer. We thought this would fit in well with the logline-'Home Sweet Home.' As the home sweet home establishes a usual homely feel, however due to the film title and the fact it is in the horror genre, gives it a sinister twist therefore changing the original implicated meaning.
Trespass
We chose Trespass as one of our final ideas as we believed it highlighted the idea of an unwanted visitor which is what we are trying to express through our storyline. This gives the idea of trespassing on someone property. We liked the use of the one word as it is simplistic however memorable with the audience.

Film title name ideas
Above is the image of some possible film ideas I have created for my final product. My group and I researched multiple films and horror synonyms that would really being out the horror genre. We understand that the film title would have to say something about the film so therefore we took this into consideration. I found it somewhat hard to find a title name that hasn't already been used however, after some research, I found multiple selections that have yet to be claimed.

Planning for my film poster
Whilst researching a variety of posters in the horror movie genre, I became aware that the posters needed to reflect the film and attract the set audience. As my film is based on the plot of a masked man breaking into a house, I was aware that this needed to e recognised in the poster. I found multiple film posters that reflect a similar story line;
Whilst researching these film posters, I concluded that the collector was a more favourable poster and something that could be easily achievable. It highlights the location-the house and the antagonist-The masked killer. The title is placed below the man and is in a white font which stands out against the black background. I found that the white and red font is commonly used in horror film posters, and is something I am hoping to incorporate into my movie poster.

Filming 24/11/13
Above are some pictures of filming on Sunday 24/11/13. During our first attempts at filming, most of our scene consisted exterior footage, and as horror films rely on darkness to enhance the horror genre, we find great difficulty in filming in the dark. Therefore, we decided to alter our storyline so that the majority of the scenes were interior. This made filming a lot easier and we found the quality was also much better. ,My group-LoftLight productions, consisting of members John, Ryan, Shaun and myself, all contributed to the task and we all took turns of filming and editing.

Film trailer synopsis
Once creating my synopsis for my movie trailer I was careful to allow enough insight to the story without giving too much or over analysing the story. Therefore, my group and I decided on this short synopsis;

Film poster fonts
For our film poster, My group and I have decided to research multiple film posters in the horror genre. After analysing horror film posters such as; nightmare on elm street, The Amityville horror, Mirrors, Insidious, all feature red coloured font, which gives of the connotation of blood, violence, anger etc. This is typical of the film posters in the horror genre as most involve these connotations in the film.
The font used for The Amityville Horror is; TymesLittleCaps. I thought this font gave a professional appeal however got across the sinister and horror genre. This font is something I am considering using for my ancillary products and film title.

Location Ideas
For the location of our trailer, we had multiple ideas on where to film it. Our first idea of filming was based on a farm and consisted of mainly exterior scenes. The initial location ideas were Balls Wood park in Maghull and Down Holland Hall farm. As our film is in the horror genre, My group and I were aware that we needed darkness to really enhance the horror genre. However, once we first began filming, we found great difficulty in doing this and the footage was very unclear and looked unprofessional, therefore, we decided to alter the storyline so that most of our scenes are interior, this enables us the chance to change lighting etc.
For the new location we have decided to use my house. This helps with the issue of lighting and already our footage has become a lot clearer and of a better quality. We will film some exterior footage however we will mainly use interior scenes throughout the trailer.

Profile of antagonist
Name: John Wood
Age:19
Character: Masked killer
Appearance: John has tanned skin, black hair, blue eyes and is approx. 6ft 4 inches.
When creating the main antagonist for our trailer, my group and I were aiming for someone tall and broad, using a character of a muscular terry gives of a more intimidating and strong image. John being part of our group, is extremely hard working and confident, therefore, I am aware He will take this role seriously and will perform in a professional manor. John will be wearing a mask throughout filming to hide his identity. Like film such as; Jason from Friday the 13th, Leatherface from the Texas chainsaw massacre and Ghostface from scream, We see that all these masked killers are infact big built and tall. It recognises a sense of power and authority, and makes the victims look all the more innocent.

Product company name
After considering multiple ideas of a product company name, I finally managed to narrow down my options and choose one that was suitable. I chose this name as I believe it fitted in well with our genre of film and was extremely catchy. our Product company name being;
LoftLight productions
I chose this as I believed it gave a sense of mystery. For example; the loft/basement is always a popular choice of location in films, it gives you all the qualities you need such as; darkness, isolation, silence, confinement etc. It creates a creepy and eerie animosity, perfect for a tense horror, which is what I am aiming for in my project.
I have had several ideas about how to go about creating a clip for this name. My ideas being;
Having a low angle shot that zooms into the loft-possibly up a ladder, that focuses in a dark room, in which a candle will be lit announcing the company name.
My other ideas were to have a black screen to open, then the sound of a match being lit and a candle light that would read the words 'LoftLight' above it.
I decided that I wanted to film my clip instead of creating an animation for it as I believe it gives a more professional appeal and fits in better with the genre.
